BRIEF HISTORY Epiphany Lutheran School started as a preschool in 1981 with classes in the Parish Hall at our old location (3208 Thomasville Road). The enrollment the first year was 15. From there we added additional classes and built a main school building in 1986. On June 3, 1997, Epiphany officially received the donation of the 10.8 acres of land from Mr. Conner's (a church member) company. Epiphany set out to design and permit a new building that would include church and school offices, classrooms, a large kitchen, and a Parish Hall that would be used as a worship center until a formal sanctuary could be built. On March 7, 1999 the congregation held a ground breaking on the Killearn Lakes site. Construction started shortly thereafter on a 25,000 square foot building, with a total building cost of $1,706,000.
The new Killearn Lakes building was finished in August of 1999 and school officially opened on August 22. |
