Dear Parents,

I am so excited and honored to be one of the VPK Program teachers at Epiphany Lutheran School this year!

Please let me introduce myself to you.  My name is Sandy Poppell and I have been teaching at Epiphany since 2000. Before that I taught First Grade for 20 years in private Christian Schools and 4 years in the public school system as a music teacher in Middle and Elementary.  I have been a choir director in my home church for 27 years but have recently given that up to spend more time with my children and grand children.

My husband and I have been married for 34 years.  We have 2 children, Christy who is an ESE teacher in Wakulla County, and Allen who is a Plantation Manager up in Thomasville!  We are so very proud of both of them.  My husband has worked for Capital City Bank 27 years and is VP in charge of Security for all offices.  During the summer I enjoy traveling to all of the offices with him.  This really gives us quality time together which is so important! 

The VPK Program is going to be a great adventure for me as well as your family.  Please know I will be learning right along with your child.  I can’t help but know God has put me into this position to love your child and guide him/her in the right way towards God’s creative light of grace!

We will be learning lots of fun things and will be following the state guided curriculum as mandated by the legislature.

I plan to have a sign-up sheet on meet your teacher day so you can partner with me in giving your child the best experience possible!  There will be lots of fun things we need for our art projects including pie pans, toilet paper and paper towel holders, baby food jars, scrapes of material and other things that are great for projects.  So start saving now if you can!

Again, I am looking forward to working with you and your child to make this year of learning one full academic, emotional and spiritual growth!  Thank you for trusting me with your dearest possession , your child!
