MEET THE EPIPHANY LUTHERAN SCHOOL TEACHERS...
|
Linda Boyd, Teacher Preschool 4 Year Old Program Epiphany Lutheran School VPK 4 Year Old Program 2006-2007 Dear Parents, Welcome to Epiphany's Pre-K program for your four year-old. My name is Linda Boyd, and as we prepare for the start of a new school year you should know a bit about me. Let me say, first of all, that I am a teacher because I love children, and watching them learn and develop a bit more each day brings me happiness and a feeling of having done something worth while. My degree in Early Childhood Development is from Olivet Nazarene University, a denominational university in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Before my husband Bob and I moved to Tallahassee, at the start of 2002, I taught First Grade in Bourbonnais. In April 2002, I became Director of the Day Care Camp for Epiphany; and in the fall added teaching 2nd grade to my work load. At the end of the 2004-05 school year, I gave up the Day Care Directorship, but continued to teach 2nd grade. Youngsters, we know now, learn best through play. We will utilize that in operating a learning center which will provide your child a better chance to develop and to grow in the core areas: educational, emotional, social, physical and spiritual. We believe Epiphany's program will address each need your child has, creating a solid foundation for growth toward maturity. Communicating with you is quite important to me, as it lets both of us know when something is going on in your child's life that may affect school and home. By talking to each other, we can be a bit quicker to spot areas that may warrant special attention. You need to know what is going on at school, and I will try to keep you up to date by using calendars and a regular newsletter. Feel free to call me at school or home. Snack time is a daily highlight, so please pack your child a nutritious, filling snack in a lunch box each day. Please send a full set of clean clothing for your child in a labeled plastic bag the first day of school. I look forward to the year, and ask you to be my partner in educating your child. Hope to meet you at Meet Your Teacher Day. May God Bless Us and Our Year. Linda Boyd
