YET ANOTHER REASON!

Philemon 6

When I was in high school I broke my right thumb right at the beginning of basketball season. Man it hurt. I had to tape the thumb in against my index finger. I could barely handle dribbling, but shooting was out of the question. So, I decided that since I was a switch hitter in baseball, why couldn’t I learn to shoot jump shots left-handed? So I started practicing shooting lefty. It was kind of weird. As I became more proficient at it, I discovered that though I couldn’t shoot with as much distance as I could right-handed, my shot was softer for some reason, and that meant that my lefty shots tended to play around the rim and often go in. I’ve been a pastor in N.E. Pennsylvania, No. Virginia, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Sioux Falls and Tallahassee. Thus, I have friends and acquaintances all over the country. These pick-me-ups I write get sent to a good number of these people either by myself, or, forwarded to others. Actually, from what I hear, they get sent to a lot of people I don’t know.

With some degree of regularity I hear from people because of something in a PMU that hits home at just the right time. I’m grateful to God for His working through these writings/meditations/call them what you will. But what I’m also grateful for is the fact that so many who read them are maintaining their love for Jesus!
